Mute Volume
Quickly mute your iPad by pressing and holding the volume down button on the side.
Apps. not working properly?
Some apps. don’t play well with Multitasking Gestures. Go to Settings, General, and turn that feature off.
Take an iPad screenshot
You can take a screenshot on your iPad by pressing “Home” and then the “Sleep/Wake” button. The screen will flash and you'll hear a click, indicating that a photo has been taken. Your screen shots are saved automatically in your Photos gallery. Here, you can view or email them as you see fit.
Spotlight Search
Swipe left on the Home Screen to open Spotlight Search. If it searches too much and takes too long, turn off some of the search areas to limit that. “Settings”, “General”, “Spotlight Search”.
Upper Case vs. Lower Case (or Caps Lock)
To type a Capital letter, tap the shift key first. If you need to type an entire word in upper case, simply double tap the Shift Key so it stays on.
Select, Copy, Paste and more
Tap and hold over any word, URL or other text. A pop up comes up with Select, Select All, Copy, and Replace. Choose Copy to Paste that text elsewhere. You can also choose Replace for suggestions for a misspelled word.

Simply tap on the subject you wish to photograph so it will adjust the focus and find the correct light meter setting.

Want your screen to stop changing orientation every time you slightly tilt it? Double tap your Home Button to see the running apps. across the bottom. Swipe right until you see the screen orientation lock.

Use Safari Reader to eliminate adds and other distractions
Simply tap on the purple Reader in the Safari web address bar. It will give you a page with just text.
