Mute Volume
Quickly mute your iPad by pressing and holding the volume down button on the side.
Apps. not working properly?
Some apps. don’t play well with Multitasking Gestures. Go to Settings, General, and turn that feature off.
Edmodo and Notability
Trying to access a document from Edmodo to open in Notability? The document must be a .pdf. See the instructional video here
Take an iPad screenshot
You can take a screenshot on your iPad by pressing “Home” and then the “Sleep/Wake” button. The screen will flash and you'll hear a click, indicating that a photo has been taken. Your screen shots are saved automatically in your Photos gallery. Then, you can view or email them as you see fit.
Airdrop is on the iPad.

Reduce Motion
Apple spent months adding new features and you just want to turn them off to save power so you can play Candy Crush on the last train home. That lovely Parallax effect whereby you move your phone and the wallpaper shifts slightly to give you a 3D effect, well it might drain your battery and you can turn it off. Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion.
Control Center
Swipe up from anywhere and the Control Center pops up on the bottom. See image below. You can adjust volume, brightness, turn Airdrop on and off and more.
Backing up Your Files
Dropbox limits their space to 2GB uploaded through the website. There is no limit per file, but once your 2GB is used up, it is full. Try cleaning out old assignments you don't need to keep for next year or for Senior Transitions presentations.
Google Drive has a limit of 30GB total storage when using the app, however they limit each upload that you convert to a Google form depending on the type. Documents are limited to 10 MB, presentations are limited to 50MB. If you DON'T convert the document, your limit is the same as your available storage space.
Edmodo limits each upload to only 100MB so if your Keynote or Pages has a video in it, it may be too large.

Close (or Quit) running or open apps iOS7.
Double click on the Home Button to see all apps. that are running. Center the app on your screen and "swipe" up to close the app. Make sure you are closing out apps. when you are finished using them. When apps. are running they use more of your battery.

Lock your screen orientation
Want your screen to stop changing orientation every time you slightly tilt it? Double tap your Home Button to see the running apps. across the bottom. Swipe right until you see the screen orientation lock.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and then press the Home Button. It will be saved in your Photos app.

Touch and hold on a word and you can select “Define” to see what the word means.
